Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our first litters are currently being planned. Breeding will only move forward once our cats have reached the appropriate age, maturity, and body condition and have completed the health testing required for our program. Planned pairings and anticipated timelines will be updated on our Upcoming Litters page as our plans are confirmed.
-
Health is a priority at Four Crown Bengals. Cats entering our breeding program undergo breed-appropriate genetic testing, including screening for PRA-b and PK-def, along with additional genetic testing used to guide our pairing decisions. We also plan for HCM screening by echocardiogram prior to breeding. Individual health-testing information is published on each breeding cat’s profile so families can see the testing behind our program.
-
Our kittens will be raised in our home as part of our family, not in a high-volume kennel environment. From an early age, they will be appropriately introduced to everyday household activity, handling, children, and other animals. Our goal is to raise confident, healthy, well-socialized Bengals who are prepared to transition successfully into their new families.
-
Four Crown kittens will remain with us through the critical early stages of development and socialization and will not leave before 12 weeks of age. Exact go-home timing may vary depending on an individual kitten’s development, health, and readiness.
-
Four Crown Bengals welcomes families throughout the United States. For families unable to pick up their kitten in person, transportation may be arranged; however, all transportation arrangements and associated expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. We are happy to coordinate with an approved transporter once arrangements have been made to help ensure a safe and smooth transition for your kitten.
At this time, Four Crown Bengals does not offer international placement or transportation. This policy may be reconsidered as our program grows.
-
At this stage in the development of Four Crown Bengals, our kittens will be placed primarily as companions and breeding rights will not be routinely offered. Our priority is to first establish our program, develop our lines, and thoughtfully evaluate what we are producing before making those lines available to other breeding programs.
As Four Crown becomes more established, we do anticipate offering select kittens with breeding rights to approved, established breeding programs whose health-testing standards, practices, and goals align with our own. These placements will be considered individually and will remain limited in order to protect the integrity and future of our lines.

Four Crown Bengals was built with the belief that how we breed matters just as much as what we produce. We are intentionally small, allowing us to know our cats as individuals and make decisions based on what is best for them and for the future of our program—not on how many litters we can produce.
Our approach combines thoughtful pedigree selection, comprehensive health and genetic screening, careful attention to temperament, and the perspective I bring from my career as a registered nurse. We believe responsible breeding means continuing to learn, asking difficult questions, being transparent about our program, and never allowing appearance alone to determine a breeding decision.
Most importantly, our cats are family before they are breeding cats. Our kittens will be born into our home, raised in the middle of real family life, and loved long before they ever belong to someone else.
Four Crown isn't being built to produce the most Bengals. We're building it to produce Bengals we're proud to put our name behind.
